Senator Babangida Hussaini, representing Jigawa Northwest and Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Northwest Development Commission (NWDC), has emphasized the commission’s critical role in driving sustainable development, enhancing infrastructure, and addressing socio-economic challenges in the Northwest region.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with journalists in his office, Senator Hussaini stated that the committee is committed to ensuring the commission fulfills its mandate efficiently and transparently.
He stressed that the NWDC would promote inclusive growth and improve the livelihoods of people in the region.
According to him, the signing of the NWDC Bill into law demonstrates President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the pressing needs of the Northwest. He expressed optimism that the region’s residents would witness a brighter future marked by stability and prosperity.
The senator reiterated that the committee would work diligently to ensure the commission operates effectively and delivers on its objectives.
Commenting on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Senator Hussaini described it as a comprehensive strategy aimed at driving economic growth, improving living standards, and strengthening Nigeria’s global reputation.
He highlighted the administration’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, which is designed to facilitate effective infrastructure development across key economic sectors.
Additionally, he noted the government’s efforts to tackle insecurity in the Northwest and across the country while improving governance. “For these goals to be achieved, citizens must continue to support the Renewed Hope Agenda, ensuring a brighter future for Nigeria,” he added.
Senator Babangida Hussaini has made a significant impact on Jigawa politics, particularly in the 12 local government areas within his senatorial district. “My commitment to dedicated public service and my devotion to the people of Jigawa Northwest are evident in my tireless efforts,” he stated.
As a seasoned public servant in the 10th National Assembly, he highlighted his numerous constituency projects focusing on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Regarding his political future, particularly in the 2027 elections, Senator Hussaini stated that, for now, his focus remains on serving his constituents and fulfilling his current mandate.
However, he remains open to exploring opportunities to make a greater impact. “My future plans are in the hands of God and the people I serve,” he concluded.
