The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) sweeps the Saturday Chairmanship and Councillorship local government council election in Adamawa state.

Announcing the outcome of the results in his office, the Adamawa state Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Alhaji Mohammad Umar says the PDP has swept all the chairmanship positions with only a few councillors to other opposition parties.

It would recalled that some strong opposition parties had earlier boycotted the election before the Saturday 13th July polls.

There were 18 political parties registered, 12 earlier to participate but only three parties participated in the state while others boycotted the poll which included the opposition parties like APC, PRP, AP ADC, LP etc in the 13th July 2024 poll.

Umar said, that the PDP has won all the 21 chairmanship seats and 225 councillorship seats in the state and that the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP)  won one councillorship seat in the Demsa local government area.

The commission also presented certificates of return to the winners of the election on July 13th election.
