The President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam, has called on the Federal Government to urgently tackle the rising wave of insecurity across the country.

Speaking to journalists at the ECWA headquarters in Jos, he urged the deployment of advanced surveillance systems in vulnerable communities and the strengthening of community-based policing to build trust and ensure swift, transparent justice.

Mallam also called on the government to provide meaningful support and compensation to victims, displaced persons, and affected families, while intensifying coordinated rescue operations to secure the release of abducted persons and dismantle kidnapping networks.

He condemned the recent killings in Angwan Rukuba in Plateau State, the attack on wedding guests in Kaduna State, and the abduction incident in Ora-Ago, Kwara State, describing them as barbaric acts and a serious threat to national unity and human dignity.

He noted that although some victims have been released, others remain in captivity.

The ECWA President commended the efforts of Governors Uba Sani and Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for their prompt responses but stressed that more decisive action is needed, particularly to ensure the safe release of those still held.

He urged Nigerians to remain united, vigilant, and committed to peace, emphasizing that security is a shared responsibility.

Mallam warned that the escalating insecurity, marked by killings, kidnappings, and violent attacks, must be treated as a national emergency, calling for proactive, intelligence-driven strategies to prevent further bloodshed and curb abductions for ransom.
