The Plateau State Government has further relaxed the curfew imposed on Jos North Local Government Area following the restoration of relative peace after the recent attacks in Angwan Rukuba.
The decision, taken in consultation with security agencies, came as part of efforts to ease restrictions on residents while maintaining security in the area.
Under the new arrangement, which takes effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026, movement will be allowed from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily.
The curfew was previously observed between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap.
The government urged residents to take advantage of the relaxed hours to carry out their lawful activities, while strictly complying with the curfew period from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has also directed security agencies to ensure strict enforcement of the curfew in order to safeguard lives and property, and to sustain the prevailing calm in the affected communities.
Residents were further advised to remain indoors during curfew hours, cooperate with security operatives, and provide credible information that could assist in maintaining peace and order.
