Sokoto United F.C. defeated Mojoda Football Club 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time during their Round of 64 clash in this year’s President Federation Cup at the Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa State.
Both teams displayed impressive performances throughout regulation time, but neither side could find the back of the net, forcing the encounter into a penalty shootout.
Sokoto United eventually triumphed 5-4 on penalties to advance to the next stage of the competition.
In another Round of 64 fixture scheduled to be played at Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Benue State, E-World United F.C. withdrew from their match against Jigawa Golden Stars.
As a result, Jigawa Golden Stars were awarded a walkover and automatically progressed to the next round of the competition.
