The Spiritual Leader of the Qadiriyya Islamic Movement, Sheikh Qaribullah Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, has paid a historic solidarity visit to the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, in Abuja.
The visit, described as the first official meeting between the two leaders, was aimed at strengthening the relationship between religious leadership and government in promoting peace, unity and development.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Qadiriyya leader congratulated Governor Yusuf on the achievements recorded by his administration and prayed for wisdom, good health and continued success in steering the affairs of Kano State.
Sheikh Qaribullah commended the governor’s efforts in key sectors, including infrastructure, education and healthcare, urging him to maintain the momentum towards improving the lives of the people.
The Islamic scholar also assured Governor Yusuf of the continued prayers and support of Qadiriyya followers for peace, stability and progress in Kano State and Nigeria.
Responding, Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to Sheikh Qaribullah for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the cordial relationship between his administration and religious leaders.
The governor called on members of the Qadiriyya Movement and other Islamic organisations to continue praying for peace, economic prosperity and national unity, noting that spiritual support plays an important role in the success of governments.
Governor Yusuf further reiterated his administration’s commitment to implementing people-oriented policies and sustaining development across Kano State.
