The Kano State Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) has intensified its large-scale waste evacuation exercise in the Dorayi Ramin Wawa community as part of ongoing efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and improve public health.
The exercise, which involves the removal of accumulated refuse from the area, is part of the Kano State Government’s broader commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment across the state.
The operation is being carried out under the leadership of the Managing Director of REMASAB, Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, whose administration has strengthened sanitation activities in line with the government’s environmental protection agenda.
According to the agency, the exercise aligns with the vision of Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to provide a cleaner, healthier, and more conducive environment for residents while improving living conditions in communities across the state.
Residents of Dorayi Ramin Wawa expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cleanup operation, describing it as a timely intervention that will help address environmental challenges and enhance public well-being.
They also commended the Kano State Government for prioritizing environmental sanitation and responding to the needs of local communities.
The residents specifically praised Dr. Khalil for his proactive leadership, accessibility, and commitment to addressing public concerns.
Speaking during the exercise, Dr. Khalil called on residents to continue supporting the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to ensure the success of development programmes and public service initiatives being implemented for the benefit of the people.
He stressed the importance of community participation in maintaining a clean environment, noting that environmental sanitation is a collective responsibility and a key factor in promoting public health and sustainable development.
The REMASAB Managing Director further urged residents to adopt proper waste disposal practices and work closely with relevant authorities to sustain the gains of the ongoing sanitation efforts.
