The estwhile Sokoto State House of Assembly member representing Shagari/Yabo constituency,Barrister Alhaji Maidawa has pledged to utilize Shagari earth dam to boost the economy activities of the area if given the mandate.
Barr Maiwada further said that Shagari area is blessed with untapped human and agricultural potentials which if properly utilize it would rapidly boost the revenue base of the area and state at large.
The former legislator stated this to newsmen in Sokoto shortly after he was screened as the Shagari local government APC candidate in the forthcoming September polls in the state .
He also expressed concerned over the incessant security challenges,canoes incidents especially in riverine communities and pledges to take immediate measures to address the menace.
He highlighted that part of the measures his council will adopt includes provision of irrigation and season support to the farmers so as to boost their morals to engages fully in the production of foods for consumption and commercial .
Shagari area is presently witnessing incision of banditries activities because its shares borders with Zamfara state.
Maiwada pledge to fully implement the Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s nine points smart agenda as a road map in the governance of the council is elected as chairman.
