The Sokoto Agile project has launched a tree-planting initiative in 224 junior and senior secondary schools across the state, focusing on both environmental and economic trees.
The state Commissioner Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education, Mohammad Tukur Alkali has launched the Eco Club and Tree Planting for Climate Action at Nana Girl Secondary School in the state.
The initiative aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to adopt agriculturally friendly practices from a young age.
Alkali, who was represented by the Director of Administration Abubakar Umar Salame also emphasized the importance of being agriculturally friendly right from secondary school, setting the tone for a sustainable future.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Commissioner Nurse Hadiza Ahmed Shagari of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Permanent Secretary Almustapha Alkali of the Ministry of Environment, and Project Coordinator Dr. Mansur Isa Buhari of the state Agile project, among others.
