From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto
The Special Adviser to the Sokoto State Governor on Security Matters, Colonel Ahmed Usman (retd), has congratulated General Christopher Musa (retd) on his appointment as Minister of Defence, describing it as a strategic boost to Nigeria’s security architecture.
Usman, in a statement on Thursday, said Musa’s appointment was “well-deserved,” noting that the former Chief of Defence Staff had demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, and commitment to national unity throughout his military career.
According to him, the appointment comes at a time when Nigeria requires experienced security administrators to tackle rising threats across the country.
He said, “General Musa’s operational knowledge and strategic command experience will be critical in confronting banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, and other emerging security challenges.”
The retired colonel urged the new minister to prioritise intelligence-driven operations, enhance troop morale, and deploy modern technology to strengthen defence capabilities nationwide.
Usman also noted that the Sokoto State Government remains committed to collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Defence to protect residents, especially in communities grappling with bandit attacks.
He prayed for God’s guidance and wisdom for the minister, expressing confidence that Musa’s leadership would contribute significantly to improving national security.
