The President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, has officially inaugurated a seven-member Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Electoral Committee (SWANECO) with the mandate to conduct a credible, transparent, free, and fair election in line with the association’s constitution and democratic principles.
This was contained in a communiqué issued shortly after the meeting and signed by the Secretary-General of SWAN, Ikenna Okonkwo.
According to the communiqué, the members of the 2026 SWANECO are:
Hembadoon Orsar – Chairman
Bisi Ogunleye – Member
Jacob Onjewu Dickson – Secretary
Bala Bawaji – Member
Chimezie Anaso – Member
Emmanuel Akpan – Member
Bushrat Yusuf – Member
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman of SWANECO, Hembadoon Orsar, appreciated the confidence reposed in the committee by the SWAN President and the National Executive Council (NEC).
He assured members of the association of the committee’s commitment to conducting a credible election process that would uphold the integrity and standards of SWAN.
The full council also commended members for their continued dedication, unity, and commitment to the ideals and growth of the association.
