In a renewed drive to enhance grassroots governance and accelerate development, the Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has approved the appointment of 23 Special Advisers drawn from all ten electoral wards in the council.

The appointments, announced in a press release issued on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, by the council’s Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, aim to strengthen the delivery of services across various critical sectors such as health, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, commerce, women affairs, and more.

According to Sekure, the selection of the advisers was based on merit, with emphasis on experience, grassroots connection, and capacity to support the council’s development blueprint.

“These individuals were carefully chosen for their competence and knowledge of the unique needs of our communities. Their appointment reflects our administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and development that reaches every corner of Tarauni,” he said.

Among the newly appointed Special Advisers are:

  1. Nura Husaini – SSA on Health II
  2. Buhari (Unguwar Gano) – SSA on Education
  3. Jamilu Mai Gold – SSA on Youth Empowerment
  4. Sani Upside – SSA on Agriculture
  5. Muhammad Makasi – SSA on Revenue
  6. Nura Skipper – SSA on Land II
  7. Auwal Barde – SSA on Works II
  8. Zainab Barde – SSA on Community Development
  9. Auwal PRO – SSA on Political Affairs
  10. Shamsu S. Leda – SSA on Investment and Properties
  11. Alhaji Gambo – SSA on Trade and Commerce
  12. Salisu Mato – SSA on Planning, Research and Statistics (PRS)
  13. Abba Habu – SSA on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
  14. Habibu Midi Spiking – SSA on Market Affairs
  15. Aisha Ashanti – SSA on Women and Children
  16. Magaji Halliru Sabo – SSA on Motor Parks
  17. Ado Babawo – SSA on Mobilization
  18. Madina Abdullahi – SSA on Women Affairs I
  19. Ali Batex – SSA on Youth Affairs
  20. Dolo Usman Musa – SSA on Market (Unguwa Uku Tasha)
  21. Sadiq Yahaya Musa – SSA on Youth Affairs II

The Chairman charged the appointees to discharge their duties with integrity and devotion, stressing that their performance would directly impact the success of his administration and the wellbeing of the people.

“I urge all advisers to be proactive, transparent, and fully committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them. You are expected to help bridge the gap between government and the people,” Sekure stated.

He further appealed to elected councilors and other stakeholders to cooperate with the newly appointed advisers, noting that teamwork is essential for achieving meaningful progress in Tarauni.

Director of Personnel Management, Alhaji Tijjani Madaki Guliya, also applauded the appointments, describing them as strategic and inclusive.

“We are confident that these appointments will energize the council’s development goals. The chairman has demonstrated leadership by ensuring that all wards are represented,” Guliya said.

The announcement was made at a gathering attended by senior officials of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), including Vice Chairman of the LG, Khalid Ayuba, Council Secretary Engr. Aminu Ibrahim Malami, Leader of the Council Ali Idris Ali (Kauyen Alu), Special Political Adviser Aliyu Sani Zaki, and Special Adviser on Special Duties Sani Usman Sani (S.A.), popularly known as Kawu Fiya.

The appointments mark a significant step in the council’s efforts to enhance service delivery and deepen participatory governance in the local government area.
