Three state governors are set to commission multi-billion naira projects executed by the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda in Katsina State.
The governors expected for the exercise are Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, who is also the Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF); Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State; and Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State.
The Katsina State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Bala Salisu Zango, disclosed this while briefing newsmen at the Government House Press Centre in Katsina.
According to him, Governor Buni will kick off the commissioning activities on May 1, 2026, with the inauguration of the reconstructed Ingawa–Dutsi–Shargalle road network at about 9:00 a.m.
He added that Governor Ahmad Aliyu is scheduled to commission the Yandaki–Shinkafi–Kofar Sauro Junction road within the Katsina metropolis later the same day at about 5:00 p.m.
Zango further stated that Governor AbdulRazaq will commission a Model Secondary School in Radda community, Charanchi Local Government Area, on May 5, 2026, at about 11:00 a.m.
In a related development, the state government has also fixed May 2, 2026, for the turbaning of three newly appointed District Heads at the palace of the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
The commissioner revealed that among those to be turbaned is Mohammed Dikko Radda, son of the state governor, who will assume the position of District Head of Radda in Charanchi Local Government Area.
The title was relinquished by his father following his emergence as governor.
Also to be turbaned is Ahmed Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, son of the Emir of Katsina, who will become the District Head of Dankama in Kaita Local Government Area.
Similarly, Alhaji Abubakar Darisu will be installed as the District Head of Muduru in Mani Local Government Area.
Zango noted that the turbaning ceremony will feature a series of activities, including a special polo tournament, durbar displays, and a state dinner at the Government House.
He assured that adequate arrangements have been put in place to ensure hitch-free commissioning and turbaning ceremonies, with a committee already constituted to oversee the events.
