The Chairperson of the Home Economics Teachers Association of Nigeria (HETAN), Kano State Wing, Hajiya Halima Abubakar, has expressed confidence that Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, will win the 2027 election, praying for his re-election for another four-year term.

Hajiya Halima made the assertion today at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, during the opening of the 2026 Annual National Conference and Workshop of the association.

The conference, hosted by the Kano State Government, brought together representatives from all 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Speaking to newsmen at the event, Hajiya Halima appreciated Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his support towards the successful hosting of the conference.

She disclosed that the Kano State Government covered the expenses of the conference through the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Kano Educational Resources Directorate (KERD), Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain.

She said the association had no words to express its appreciation to the governor other than to thank Allah for giving Kano State a leader who supports education and teachers.

“Our prayer is 4+4 for His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, so that our students can continue to benefit from his support for education,” she said.

She also expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary of KERD, Hajiya Rabi Inuwa Hussain; the Secretary to the Kano State Government, who represented the governor; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education; the State

Commissioner for Education, Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Vocational Training, Hon. Habib Hassan El-Yakub; and the Head of Department, Entrepreneurship, KSSSMB, Malama Amina.

In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Vocational Training, Hon. Habib Hassan El-Yakub, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering support for entrepreneurship education in schools across the state.

He said that since the inception of the Abba Kabir Yusuf administration, more than 20,000 students had received entrepreneurship training with the support of the state government.

He described the achievement as a significant contribution to the development of Kano State, noting that the administration had made remarkable progress in supporting entrepreneurship education.

He added that the achievements recorded by the administration demonstrated its commitment to the development and empowerment of young people in Kano State.
