Troops of Operation Enduring Peace, Sector 7, deployed at Samaru Village in Zonkwa District of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have recovered weapons and arrested six suspects travelling from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State during a stop-and-search operation.

The operation, conducted at about 9:40 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, was part of ongoing offensive operations aimed at disrupting the activities of criminal elements and denying terrorists freedom of movement within the Joint Operations Area.

This was disclosed in a statement issued to journalists by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh.

According to the statement, troops at the Samaru checkpoint intercepted an ash-coloured Mercedes-Benz vehicle with registration number EDO GUE-722-LV and arrested six suspects believed to be supplying logistics to terrorists.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were travelling from Jos, Plateau State, to Niger State.

During a search of the vehicle, troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, four sub-machine guns, and the Mercedes-Benz car used for the operation.

The statement added that one of the suspects attempted to flee during the operation but was immediately subdued. He sustained injuries, is in stable condition, and is cooperating with investigators.

The recovered weapons and the six suspects are currently in military custody for further interrogation and exploitation.

Operation Enduring Peace commended members of the public for their continued cooperation and urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements or individuals to the appropriate security agencies.
