Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the construction of the 108km Magami to Dansadau road.
A statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that the Magami to Dansadau road project is a priority for immediate action to address security challenges and prioritize the well-being of the affected people in the area.
The Governor approved the project during a Zamfara State Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Gusau.
The statement further noted that key topics, such as budget performance, were addressed during the State Executive Council meeting.
”It also mentioned that the 108-kilometer road project, detailed in the 2024 Budget, has advanced significantly. The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has secured the Executive Governor’s approval to initiate the contract award process and seek the Certificate of No Objection from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).”
According to the statement, the Governor approved the contract for Dantata and Sawoe Company for ₦81,189,223,505.73, with a contract duration of 18 months.
The major scopes of works outlined for the project are clearance to the limit of the construction area, total scarification of the existing deteriorated surface, removal of unsuitable material and replacement with approved quality material.
Others are the provision of filter material at identified locations, provision of approved laterite fill to makeup levels, provision of different types of hydraulic structures including reinforced concrete drains at identified locations and provisions of access cover slabs.
