The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Information Chapel, Kano State, heartily congratulates the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, on his emergence as one of the three finalists in the Crisis Communicator category of the prestigious 2026 National Spokespersons Awards.
The Chapel describes the recognition as a well-deserved honour and a testament to Comrade Waiya’s exceptional communication skills, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and effective public engagement in Kano State.
The Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, said the Commissioner’s nomination among the nation’s finest crisis communicators reflects the remarkable transformation witnessed in the state’s information management and strategic communication under his leadership.
According to him, Comrade Waiya has continued to demonstrate excellence in government communication through timely dissemination of information, proactive media engagement, and responsible management of sensitive public issues, earning him respect within and outside the communication profession.
The Chapel also commended the organisers of the National Spokespersons Awards for recognising excellence and encouraging high professional standards in public communication across Nigeria.
The NUJ Information Chapel expresses confidence that Comrade Waiya’s emergence as a finalist will inspire communication professionals in Kano State to continue promoting ethical journalism, responsible public relations, and effective information management.
