Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency of Katsina State have affirmed Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari as the consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The affirmation took place during a rally held in Kankara, where party stalwarts commended the decision of the consensus committee, describing it as a response to the wishes of party leaders, members, and stakeholders across the constituency.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Consensus Committee, Engineer Tasiu Sabuwa, said the decision followed wide consultations with stakeholders from the 31 wards across the three local government areas of the constituency.

According to him, the committee considered factors such as popularity, acceptability among the electorate, loyalty to the party, and track record in politics and public service before arriving at the decision.

Sabuwa noted that Hon. Hamza Sule met all the required criteria and expressed confidence that he would provide quality representation while strengthening the party’s support base across the constituency.

Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe, commended the constituency and zonal consensus committees led by former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, for what he described as a transparent and thorough exercise.

He appealed to aspirants who were not selected to accept the outcome in good faith and join hands with other APC members to ensure victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Hamza Sule thanked party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the trust placed in his leadership.

He called for unity among party members and urged eligible voters who had yet to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so ahead of the elections.

Hamza Sule further pledged to prioritise security issues affecting the constituency if elected, promising to facilitate the deployment of additional security personnel and equipment, as well as support more effective strategies to tackle banditry and kidnapping in the area.

Hon. Hamza Sule is a three-time Commissioner for Environment, former Commissioner for Water Resources, and former Special Assistant to the Senator representing Funtua Zone. He is also regarded as one of the influential political figures in the zone.

Apart from politics, he is a philanthropist, businessman, and large-scale farmer. He holds the traditional titles of Wamban Faskari in Faskari District and Sadaukin Kasar Hausa in the Daura Emirate.
