The recently concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign tour of Funtua Senatorial District has been described as a sign of the party’s anticipated victory in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking with newsmen, a prominent party leader from the area, Hamza Suleiman Faskari, said the exercise attracted unprecedented crowds and was characterised by peace, orderliness and active engagement with key stakeholders across the district’s 11 local government areas.

Faskari, who is the APC flagbearer for the Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, said supporters from different walks of life, including women, youths, farmers, traders, artisans and students, turned out in large numbers to welcome Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda and his campaign team in every local government area visited.

“What we saw was beyond politics. The reception, from Funtua through Faskari, Bakori, Danja, Malumfashi, Kankara and Dandume, clearly demonstrated that Katsina remains an APC state,” he said.

“What this massive turnout tells us is that victory is certain. Our candidates across all levels have brighter chances at the ballot,” Hamza added.

Beyond the rallies, Faskari said the tour provided an opportunity for the government to showcase its achievements.

He explained that Governor Radda used the occasion to commission completed people-oriented projects under the Building Your Future blueprint and introduce empowerment programmes targeting women and young people.

Among the projects unveiled were rural roads, renovated healthcare facilities, refurbished classroom blocks and agricultural support initiatives.

The empowerment programmes included grants for market women, work tools for skilled workers and agricultural inputs for farmers.

Faskari further stated that the tour provided an opportunity for direct engagement between the government and residents, as the governor held separate meetings with traditional rulers, religious leaders, traders and polling unit coordinators to listen to their concerns.

Speaking during the tour, Governor Radda said his administration had not only fulfilled its electoral promises but had also executed additional projects based on community needs across the state’s 361 wards.

As Chairman and Coordinator of the Tinubu/Dikko Campaign Council in Katsina State, the governor urged party loyalists to unite, reconcile their differences and intensify grassroots mobilisation, beginning at the polling-unit level.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising security, roads and infrastructure, education, healthcare and job creation.

Radda also called on the electorate to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

“What we experienced in Funtua Zone confirms that Katsina is solidly an APC stronghold. The enthusiasm, discipline and warm reception we enjoyed point to a resounding victory come 2027,” the governor declared.

The campaign team is expected to take its mobilisation activities to the Daura and Katsina Senatorial Districts in the coming weeks.
