In an unannounced visit, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kano State and Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Tuesday, inspected the operations of Kura and Dawakin Kudu Local Government Areas of the state.
A statement by the deputy governor’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, and made available to the newsmen said the Deputy Governor commended the interim management chairman and the supporting staff in their offices for their dedication to duty.
According to the statement, the deputy governor was impressed to find them actively engaged in their work during the surprise visit.
However, at the Kura Local Government Area, the Deputy Governor expressed disappointment at the absence of some staff members.
He emphasized the importance of dedicated public service and warned of consequences for non-compliance.
“This surprise inspection underscores the present administration’s commitment to ensuring efficient service delivery at the local government level,” the Deputy Governor stated. “Our local governments are crucial in delivering essential services to the people, and we expect leadership and staff to be present and accountable.”
The Deputy Governor did not disclose the specific consequences for the absent staff but reiterated the importance of responsible leadership and adherence to duty hours.
This surprise inspection serves as a reminder to all local government officials in Kano State of the expectation for dedicated service to the public.
