Sokoto state Government has donated N10 million, four trucks of rice and maize to families affected by banditry attacks in Isa Local Government of the state.
The State Gov. Ahmed Aliyu stated this while speaking at the flag off of the distribution of relief materials to the affected families in the area.

Sokoto State Governor stated that Governor Aliyu said the gesture is aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the families of those killed and kidnapped in the series of attacks by bandits in the area.
He also announced a donation of N10 million from Senator Wamakko, in addition to the N10 million as well the four trucks of rice and maize totalling 2,400 bags, donated by the state government.
“We are indeed worried by the activities of bandits in our dear state.
“As a government, we are doing everything humanly possible to end banditry through various means, such as giving our security agencies all the needed support to secure the state,” he added.
Gov Aliyu, while commending the effort of the security agencies in securing the State, tasked them to put in more efforts in that direction.
“To further compliment the effort of our security personnel, we established the Sokoto State Community Guards Corps with the sole aim of protecting our rural dwellers,” he added.
The governor also appealed to the people of the state, especially in the areas worst affected by banditry to always assist the security agencies with relevant information on any suspicious movement.
Also speaking, the APC leader in the State, Sen Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, commended Gov. Aliyu for executing various people-oriented projects across the state.
“Mr Governor, your one year in office has been very fruitful, as we have seen transformation across the state, please keep up the good work,” Wamakko added.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support the present administration in its effort to develop the state.
Other speakers at the occasion included the Isa Local Government Sole Administrator, Alhaji Isa Mohammed Dan Dela, who commended Gov. Aliyu for the relief materials, which he said would go a long way in making the lives of the displaced better.
He also called on the people in the area to continue to support the present administration in its effort to better their lots.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of the food items to some of the benefitting families, which was performed by the former Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammed Maigari Dingyadi, Sokoto State Deputy Governor, Idris Muhammad Gobir, Speaker, SOHA, Rt. Hon. Tukur Bala Bodinga as well as the members representing Kware/Wamakko Federal Constituency, Ahmed Abdullahi Kalambaina and that of Bodinga Dange/Shuni Tureta, Nasiru Shehu.
It could be recalled that a few months back, a similar gesture was extended to the victims of various attacks in the Goronyo Gwadabawa and Tangaza Local Government Areas of the State.
