The suspected members of the Biafra Nations League (BNL) have killed three Cameroonian Gendarmes in Atabong East of Bakassi Peninsula and stolen their gun rifles.

Our correspondent reports that it was said the BNL boys, numbering five, had, in a surprise move yesterday, August 18, attacked three Cameroonian Gendarmes at the market, hitting them hard with weapons.

Sources close to the separatists hinted that one of them, who quickly snatched a gun, shot the three officers and ran away with the guns.

Separatist groups, especially armed forces loyal to the BNL, have, over time, been troubling the Bakassi Peninsula, making business activities unsafe in the Gulf of Guinea.

Operational Coordinator of BNL, Henry Edet confirmed the incident and declined further comments.
