From Umar Danladi Ado, Sokoto

The newly elected Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Sokoto Branch, popularly known as the Caliphate Bar, Barr. Bashir Mu’azu Jodi, Esq., has expressed appreciation to Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamma Daular Usmaniyya, and Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State for their support.

In his letter to Sen. Wamakko, Jodi expressed “profound respect, humility, and gratitude” for the senator’s support, fatherly guidance, wise counsel, prayers, and unwavering encouragement throughout his journey to the chairmanship of the Caliphate Bar.

He recalled Wamakko’s reassuring words during the election period: “Idan Allah Ya Rubuto, kaine; babu wani da zai hana. Kada ka damu. Allah ke bada mulki, ba mutum.”

Translated, the statement means: “If Allah has decreed it, it is you; no one can stop it. Do not worry. Allah gives power, not man.”

“Those words strengthened my resolve, renewed my confidence, and reminded me that ultimate success comes only from Almighty Allah.

“They inspired me to remain steadfast, focused, and committed throughout the process,” Jodi said.

Jodi also appreciated Gov. Ahmed Aliyu for his support for the NBA Sokoto Branch and the legal profession in the state.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to sustaining the cordial relationship between the Caliphate Bar, the state government, and other critical stakeholders.

While thanking his colleagues for reposing confidence in him and the newly elected executive members, the chairman pledged to lead the Bar to greater heights with absolute piety, patriotism, professionalism, and integrity.

He appealed to members of the association for their continued support and prayers, while praying for divine guidance and protection as the new leadership pilots the affairs of the Bar.
