The newly appointed Commissioner for Information in Kano State, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has officially assumed office.

The assumption of duty ceremony, held at the Ministry of Information headquarters, featured a symbolic handover by the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad.

In his inaugural address, Comrade Waiya pledged to foster a collaborative relationship with journalists in the state, emphasizing the importance of accurate and effective dissemination of government policies and programs.

He assured that staff welfare would be a priority to boost morale and enhance service delivery. Additionally, he promised to focus on capacity building to equip the Ministry’s staff with the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.

The Commissioner reiterated his commitment to supporting the state government by ensuring the proper dissemination of information about its activities. He also acknowledged the vital role of Civil Society Organizations in promoting good governance and assured continued collaboration with them to achieve this goal.

Waiya solicited the full support and cooperation of the Ministry’s staff to enhance service delivery and fulfill the Ministry’s mandate.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad, congratulated Comrade Waiya on his appointment. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Ministry’s staff to work diligently under his leadership and urged them to provide maximum support for effective service delivery.

The handover ceremony was attended by management staff, heads of agencies under the Ministry, friends, relatives, and well-wishers.
