The Advocacy for Growth and Development Sustaining Leadership Initiative (ASDLI), a civil society organisation advocating transparency, accountability and good leadership, has presented a special Leadership Merit Award to Alhaji (Dr.) Musa Adamu Majia, founder of Khadija University, in recognition of his contributions to grassroots education and national development.
Dr. Majia received the award at a ceremony held at Majia House, Zone 4, Abuja, where he was also described as a “Doctor of Destiny, Father of Education, and True Nigerian Legend.”
Presenting the award, ASDLI Convener, Comrade Resheed Shuaib, said the establishment of Khadija University has had a significant impact on Jigawa State and Nigeria at large by expanding access to quality higher education.
“They say education is the passport to the future. But what do we say about a man who, despite not having that passport handed to him in a formal classroom, decided to build an entire airport of knowledge for others?” Shuaib said.
He noted that beyond personal success, Dr. Majia invested his resources in building an institution that provides opportunities for younger generations. According to him, by founding the university, Majia “did not just build a school; he built a ladder,” enabling many to pursue their academic and professional aspirations.
In his response, Dr. Majia thanked ASDLI for the recognition and pledged continued support for initiatives that promote leadership and national development.
He dedicated the award to Almighty Allah, his family, the people of Jigawa State, and the nation, reaffirming his commitment to advancing education and contributing to Nigeria’s progress.
