As Muslims around the world, including Nigerians, celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, well-meaning individuals have been urged to embrace the spirit of assisting those in need.

Former Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NESINI, Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna, made this call while delivering his Sallah message to the people of Nasarawa State and Nigerians at large.

Expressing his gratitude to God, Professor Haruna highlighted the significance of the season, noting that both Muslims and Christians had observed fasting in devotion to God’s commandments.

“You know, God is wonderful. It is a beautiful coincidence that not only Muslims fasted during this period, but Christians also did. We all dedicated our time and sacrificed our needs in obedience to God’s instructions.

“What is most important is that both Muslims and Christians should learn lessons of patience, tolerance, generosity, and compassion for those in need. Anyone privileged to support others should do so—whether assisting one person, ten people, or more—because, irrespective of our faith, we believe in God, and He rewards good deeds. I urge the people of Nasarawa State to continue embodying these virtues beyond the fasting period and even after Easter, fostering love, unity, and peace. Even if you feed an animal, God will reward you abundantly.”

Professor Haruna further urged the people of Nasarawa State to maintain the spirit of generosity and compassion.

As a gubernatorial aspirant for Nasarawa State in 2027, Professor Haruna addressed his recent endorsement by various groups and individuals calling for his candidacy.

He expressed gratitude for their support, affirming his readiness to serve.

“I am grateful to the people of Nasarawa State. I have answered their call to serve as their governor.”

Professor Haruna credited his track record, particularly during his tenure as NESINI’s head, for the widespread endorsements. He emphasized that his ambition was not for personal gain but to continue the good works of the current administration, particularly in industrialization and economic development.

“Nasarawa State has been nurturing global citizens contributing to the world’s advancement. My aspiration is not just to become a governor but to build on the good work of the current administration, particularly in industrialization and economic development. If God, in His mercy, grants us victory, it will be in service to Nasarawa State and Nigeria as a whole.”

Professor Haruna took the opportunity to commend the current governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. A.A. Sule, for his dedication to the state’s development. He also extended his condolences on the passing of Engineer Yakusa, the former Executive Director of Jos Steel Rolling Mill, praying for his soul to rest in peace.

Meanwhile, the Tsofon Kasuwa community in Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has pledged full support to ensure Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna emerges as the next governor.

The community acknowledged his numerous contributions, emphasizing that his generosity and impact on the state made him the ideal candidate.

Speaking at a reception held at Professor Haruna’s residence during the Sallah celebration, Mallam Mohammed Salisu, a civil servant from Keffi, praised the professor’s role in uplifting youths and empowering the people of Nasarawa State.

“Professor Muhammad Sani Haruna’s achievements are tangible and commendable. I am one of the many beneficiaries of his programs. When he was NESINI’s head, he took many youths out of unemployment, and today, we are reaping the benefits of his efforts. He has done so much for Nasarawa State, and he deserves our support.”

Similarly, Hajiya Maryam commended Professor Haruna for his contributions to both human and infrastructural development in Nasarawa State, reiterating her full support for his gubernatorial ambition.

With the growing support from communities and individuals, Professor Haruna’s 2027 gubernatorial bid continues to gain momentum.
