The newly appointed Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Dr Dahir Muhammad Hashim, has called on staff of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to intensify efforts in ensuring Kano becomes cleaner and greener.
Dr. Hashim made this statement today while addressing a large crowd that accompanied him to his new office as Commissioner.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception extended by the ministry’s staff, Dr. Hashim pledged to maintain an open-door policy to foster collaboration and synergy within the ministry.
He began his remarks by thanking Allah (SWA) for the opportunity to achieve this milestone and expressed his appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for entrusting him with this responsibility. Dr Hashim assured that he would work diligently to achieve the ministry’s objectives.
The Commissioner also urged the heads of various departments to prepare progress reports detailing their mandates. This, he emphasized, would facilitate effective tracking and guide future initiatives.
Earlier, the Acting Permanent Secretary, who also serves as the Director of Administration and General Services, Adamu Fate Jigaware, reaffirmed the ministry staff’s commitment to supporting the Commissioner in achieving his mandate.
In their remarks, the Chairman of Dala Local Government Area, Hon. Surajo Imam, and the Chairman of NNPP Dala, Alh. Dayyabu Ahmed Maiturare, among others, expressed their support and pledged collaboration to enhance the ministry’s efforts.
