Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has secured a landslide victory in the party’s presidential primary election in Gombe State after polling 450,517 votes across the 11 local government areas of the state.

The result of the exercise was announced on Saturday at the state collation centre in Gombe by Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, who served as the collation officer for the primary election in the state.

Declaring the results, the governor said the figures were collated from all the local government areas and reflected the overwhelming support enjoyed by Tinubu among APC members in the state.

Tinubu’s only opponent in the contest, Stanley Osifo, failed to secure a single vote in the results announced from the various councils.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and in line with the party’s electoral guidelines.

He commended party officials and members for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the process.

He stated that the results from Gombe would be transmitted to the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja for final collation and official declaration.
