The Organizing Committee of the Gombe Emir’s Cup – King’s Cup 2026 has concluded all arrangements for the successful opening ceremony of the prestigious football tournament scheduled to kick off this weekend.
The opening ceremony is fixed for Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Pantami Stadium by 3:00 p.m.
The Gombe Emir’s Cup 2026 continues to serve as a major platform for promoting unity, sportsmanship, youth empowerment, peaceful coexistence, and talent development across Gombe State through football.
The competition brings together Emirates and Chiefdoms from across the state in a celebration of football, culture, and community spirit.
The tournament is sponsored by former Chairman of the Gombe State Football Association, Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu Gara Gombe.
It is designed to strengthen cordial relationships among football stakeholders across the state while also promoting grassroots football development.
The opening ceremony will officially mark the commencement of the 2026 edition of the competition, bringing together football stakeholders, traditional institutions, government officials, participating teams, and supporters in a celebration of sports and unity.
The tournament is organized under GWG Sports Center Ltd, led by Gara Gombe Ahmed Shuaibu, whose commitment to youth and sports development continues to create opportunities for emerging talents across the state.
