The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has approved a comprehensive project inspection tour for journalists across selected local government areas of the state.
A statement from Usman Mohammed Binji, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, and Muhammad Nasir Bello, Secretary, said the week-long exercise will allow journalists to assess, document, and report on completed and ongoing projects under the current administration.
The initiative aims to promote transparency and public awareness of government achievements.
According to the NUJ, the tour will commence on Monday, November 10, with visits to Sokoto North and Sokoto South Local Government Areas.
The team will then proceed to Wamakko and Kware on Tuesday, November 11, followed by Dange-Shuni and Bodinga on Wednesday, November 12.
On Thursday, November 13, journalists will inspect projects in Tambuwal Local Government, with the tour concluding on Monday, November 17, at Illela and Gwadabawa Local Government Areas.
The NUJ Sokoto State Council commended the Governor for approving the exercise, noting that it will provide media practitioners with firsthand information on the administration’s developmental strides.
The council reaffirmed its commitment to fair, factual, and professional reporting to support good governance and the progress of Sokoto State.
