“It is with gratitude to Allah that today, we witness the beginning of yet another year,” the governor said in a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director-General of Press and Media Affairs.
Governor Buni highlighted several key achievements over the past year, particularly in agriculture. His administration launched a large-scale program aimed at achieving food sufficiency and security, which he described as a significant step toward self-reliance for the state.
Other successes included financial support for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs, cash grants aimed at job creation, and notable progress in infrastructure projects, including road construction, healthcare, and education development.
“Our commitment to infrastructural development and service delivery has remained solid with the ongoing road construction, healthcare, and education development among others,” the governor stated.
Looking ahead, Governor Buni pledged that 2025 would be a year of fulfillment for the people of Yobe. He noted that the recently signed 2025 budget would enable the government to accelerate efforts to complete ongoing projects and embark on new initiatives to improve the lives of residents.
“We signed the 2025 budget a few days ago. The government would swing into action to complete the projects for the benefit of our people,” he said.
In his message, Governor Buni commended residents for their resilience and unwavering support throughout the challenges of 2024, noting that their cooperation and faith in the government had fostered peace in the state. He also reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for security forces and encouraged continued collaboration between citizens, the government, and security agencies.
