At the end of the 13th state Executive Council meeting, the government approved state intervention in four blocks of hostel at the Nigeria Law School to be completed over 12 months.
The weekly council meeting was presided over by the state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri in the Council Chamber Government House, Yola.
Speaking to newsmen immediately after the meeting, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Iliya James, said the decision of the council was to cushion the suffering of students, particularly in the area of accommodation deficit in the Institutions.
On their part, the state Commissioners for Housing, Abdullahi Prambe and Justice, Barrister Afraimu Jingi, revealed that the approval was out of the magnanimity of Governor Fintiri to ensure more students are admitted for the one-year mandatory study.
The duo also stated that the benefitting institution is the only law school in the northeast and, therefore, needs adequate government attention at the regional level.
According to them, from the takeoff of the Institution in 2013, only 250 students were admitted, but today, 400 students are admitted, and with this state government’s intervention, more students will be enrolled.
