The Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of the Emir of Gaya, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

This was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

In the same development, the Emir of Karaye, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz, has been appointed as the Deputy Amirul Hajj.

According to the statement, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has been directed to provide maximum support and cooperation to the Amirul Hajj and his deputy to ensure a smooth, successful, and well-coordinated Hajj operation.

The government also extended its best wishes to the Amirul Hajj, his deputy, as well as the management and staff of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for a successful pilgrimage exercise.

It further prayed that all intending pilgrims perform an accepted Hajj and return safely to their families.
