Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has led a high-powered delegation from the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zonal Congress held in Kaduna State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Thursday.
The delegation comprised elected representatives, political appointees, party executives, and other key stakeholders, underscoring Kano State’s strong presence and strategic role within the party in the North-West geopolitical zone.
Governor Yusuf’s participation reflects his administration’s commitment to fostering party unity, strengthening internal democracy, and promoting inclusive leadership within the APC.
The Governor emphasized the need for peaceful, transparent, and credible intra-party processes, describing them as critical to the party’s growth, stability, and long-term success.
The zonal congress brought together party leaders and delegates from across the North-West region, providing a platform for the election of zonal officials and deliberations on key party matters.
The congress also served as an avenue for formulating strategies aimed at consolidating the APC’s electoral strength ahead of future elections.
Delegates at the congress unanimously ratified the emergence of the newly elected APC North-West Zonal leadership, reflecting unity and consensus within the party.
The outcome of the congress sets the stage for the party’s forthcoming National Convention scheduled to hold on Saturday in Abuja.
The Kano delegation reaffirmed its loyalty to the party and pledged continued support towards strengthening its structures at all levels.
Governor also congratulated the newly elected APC zonal executive commitee.
