Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Hajiya Maimuna Isah Umar, mother of the Emir of Rano, who passed away at the age of 95.
In a statement issued on Monday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor described her death as a great loss to the Rano Emirate and Kano State at large.
He noted that the deceased lived a life of humility, wisdom, and devotion to Islamic values, adding that her legacy is worthy of emulation.
Governor Yusuf extended his condolences to the Emir of Rano, the royal family, and the people of the emirate, praying that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings and grants her Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the family during this period of grief.
The funeral prayer (Jana’iza) is scheduled to take place after 2:00 p.m.
