Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has turned the state into a Commercial Capital of the Sahel region, where businesses thrive despite the hurdles.
“Kano tonight leaned into its heritage as the Sahel’s commercial heartbeat and its future as the region’s nerve centre—anchoring ambition not in slogans but in method,” the governor averred.
The Governor made the statement in Abuja at the Launching of two Books titled, “Leading in a Storm and Beneath the Surface,” authored by Dr. Dakuku Peterside.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor On Thursday.
According to the statement, the governor has been aggressively making moves in different directions to make Kano a role model in business and investment friendly state across Sub Saharan Africa.
Governor Yusuf said the provision of security, infrastructural development, roads networks and power supply across the State, digitizing the revenue system blocking leakages, traditional and religious leaders’ efforts in maintaining peace, creating friendly environment for small businesses to boom, reopening of more entrepreneurship Institutes, and transparency of the government communicating to the public about the funds used judiciously are key to making Kano great.
The Governor ably represented by Special Adviser on State Affairs- a former Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Bala, accompanied by the Director General Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, highlighted several storms the government has passed through to raise investors’ confidence.
Governor Yusuf who is reviving the lost glory of Kano in investments opportunities; more and more investors inside and outside the country are pouring to grab the opportunities due to his ability to lead in a storm and unlocking opportunities beneath the surface.
During the Launching Governor Yusuf purchased one hundred of copies of ‘Leading in a Storm’ and one hundred of ‘Beneath the Surface, at twenty million naira (N 20, 000 000)
He said the books would be distributed to the State Executive Council Members and libraries across tertiary institutions to benefit from ideas in the two books.
