The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Cross River State under the leadership of the Tanimu Turaki (SAN)-led National Working Committee, Mr. Udayi Julius, has declared that he remains the authentic and duly recognised candidate of the party for the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking at a news conference, Julius dismissed reports suggesting that he was not validly nominated by the party, describing the claims as false, misleading and the handiwork of mischief-makers.
He urged PDP members and supporters across the state to disregard the rumours, insisting that no other individual had been recognised by the party’s leadership as its governorship candidate in Cross River State.
“I remain the authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Cross River State under the leadership of the Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee.
“Any claim to the contrary is false and should be disregarded,” he said.
Julius maintained that those parading themselves as the party’s rightful candidate had no basis for their claims, stressing that only candidates produced by the recognised PDP leadership are valid.
He called on the people of Cross River State to remain united and support the PDP, urging them to come out in large numbers and vote for the party in the 2027 general elections.
