Grand Kadi, Kogi State Sharia Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Abdulkareem Aruwa has appealed to the State Government to establish a Produce and Price Control Agency.

Justice Aruwa appealed while felicitating with Muslims on the occasion of the 1446AH Islamic New Year message in Lokoja.

The Grand Kadi while congratulating Muslim Ummah for witnessing the occasion, said the call became necessary in other to alleviate the hardship and remove from Kogi State the tag of “the most costly State in Nigeria.

He also urged Traditional Rulers and Religious Leaders across the State to set up committees to regulate and monitor produce and prices in their various localities.

While describing the Islamic New Year as a significant and crucial occasion for reflection, retrospection and rededication to the cause of virtues and righteousness, Justice Aruwa enjoined Muslims to use the privilege of witnessing it to renew their faith and commitment to virtues and righteousness.

Justice Aruwa who on behalf of the Muslim Ummah felicitated with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, commended him for his material support to religious organizations in the State and prayed unto Allah to reward him abundantly.

He called on Muslims to use the occasion to intensify prayers for good, responsible and responsive leadership in the country and also supplicate intensely that Allah should come to the aid of the people from the current hardship.

The Grand Kadi used the occasion to welcome and congratulate the 2024 Kogi State Hajj contingents for their successful pilgrimage and safe return home.
