The University of Jos College of Health Science has swear-in and inducted 112 newly qualified Medical Doctors.
During the swearing in/induction on Thursday at the permanent site of Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) the Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Tanko Shaya charge the newly inducted Doctors to remember one thing,their professional and their call which is to serve humanity.
He further urged them to keep this as their focal point no matter what comes from the environment outside there, because you will be determing to serve humanity.
The VC was represented by Prof.Nuhu Gworgwor Dean, Faculty of Agriculture.
Speaking also the Provost of the College of Health Science of University of Jos,Prof.Caleb Mpyet said the college accreditation has been fully restored both the school school of Nursing and Midwifery.
He told the newly inducted doctors that they are privelage few to got the admissions and out of hundreds applications and they should be greatful to God.
According to him, the most recognize the fact that,they were one of the very best students that apply to the University of Jos, adding that,”We are confident of the training that we give our students, because our graduated students from Unijos, College of Health Science stands wherever they stands call.
“We also believes that as you start to practice as a person,you are going to build from the training you have received. You are going to encounter conditions you have never saw as students. But we expect you be excel, expect you to do your best and to give your patience.”
The provost further reminded them that,they are expected to provide care, healing and there intention should be harmless to the patient and should save lives.
He urged them that, religion or politics should not come into practice and whatever they do should eliminate pains from the patient.
Also the Register Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria Dr. Fatima Kyari who was represented reminded the of the code of conduct before the induction which among is the health and the well being of my patients which will be the first condition and respect the autonomy and dignity of my patients and I will maintain the utmost respect for human being among others.
