Kano State Deputy Governor, Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday attended the wedding fatiha of Aliyu Ahmad Dambatta and Mansura Aminu Baba at Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Juma’at Mosque in Kofar Mata, Kano.

The event was disclosed in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer in the Deputy Governor’s Office, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa Garu.

According to the statement, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, stood in as the groom’s representative (wakili), while Hassan Baba served as the bride’s guardian. The groom paid a dowry of N200,000.

The wedding solemnisation was conducted by the Chief Imam of the mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Adam, and was attended by family members, friends, traditional rulers, business leaders, political figures and other guests.

Speaking at the ceremony, Garo prayed for Allah to bless the couple with a peaceful and enduring marriage.

“I pray that Almighty Allah bless this union with lasting love, peace, happiness, mutual understanding and righteous offspring. May He continue to guide and protect the couple throughout their marital journey,” the deputy governor said.

Among those in attendance were former Secretary to the Kano State Government, Usman Alhaji; former Senator representing Kano North, Bello Hayatu Gwarzo; and former Permanent Secretary in the Federal Government, Nu’uman Barau.

After the ceremony, Garo paid sympathy visits to Majidadin Kabo, Auwalu Kabo, at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and former Kano State APC Deputy Chairman, Shehu Maigari, at his residence in Karkasara Quarters, Tarauni Local Government Area.

The deputy governor sympathised with the two APC chieftains over their health challenges and prayed for their speedy recovery.

“We pray that Almighty Allah grants them complete healing, restores them to good health and gives their families the strength to support them during this difficult period,” he said.
