The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has passionately appealed to parents to take proactive measures in protecting their children from the dangers of illicit drugs and other social vices.

Comrade Gwarzo made this call on Friday night during the annual Maulud celebration organized by Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Dangaske at Bachirawa quarters, Ungogo Local Government Area.

In his address, the Deputy Governor stressed the critical role of parental guidance in fostering moral discipline and social responsibility among young people. He expressed deep concern about the rising cases of drug abuse and social misconduct, warning of their potential to jeopardize the community’s future.

“The menace of drug abuse and social vices is deeply affecting our society. It is our collective duty to protect the younger generation from these dangers,” he stated. “I urge our ulamas to consistently preach against drug abuse and implore parents to monitor their children closely, instilling values of discipline and responsibility in them.”

Comrade Gwarzo also called on Islamic scholars and residents to support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration in its efforts to combat drug abuse and other societal challenges.

The Deputy Governor commended Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Dangaske for hosting the Maulud event, describing it as an essential platform for addressing critical social issues. He encouraged other community leaders to organize similar initiatives to instill ethical and moral values in the younger generation.

In his remarks, Alhaji Dangaske thanked the Deputy Governor for his support and emphasized the importance of parental involvement in tackling social vices. He pledged his continued commitment to the welfare of the community.

The Maulud celebration brought together religious leaders, community members, and government officials, underscoring the collective responsibility of addressing challenges facing the youth.

Prominent attendees included renowned Islamic scholars, the Grand Khadi of Kano State, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, and members of the business community, reflecting the importance of unity in confronting societal issues.
