The Kano State Government on Monday restated its commitment to human capital development, job creation and sustainable empowerment as part of efforts to boost the socio-economic well-being of residents.

This was contained in a statement by the Information Officer, Deputy Governor’s Office, Yusuf Abubakar Ibrahim.

Deputy Governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, made the pledge at Skyline University, Kano, during the certificate award ceremony for beneficiaries of the Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso (RMK) Initiative of Empowerment.

Themed “RMK Initiative Community Services”, the programme trained 1,000 schoolteachers in digital literacy and pedagogy, 100 women and youths in hospitality skills, and 50 young entrepreneurs in ICT.

Gwarzo described the initiative as proof of the administration’s vision to equip youths with marketable skills, strengthen education and promote entrepreneurship.

He commended former governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s “unwavering dedication to education, youth empowerment and public service” and urged beneficiaries to use their skills for personal growth and community advancement.

The deputy governor also thanked facilitators and the management of Skyline University for their role in the training, assuring that the government would continue to prioritise people-centred policies and programmes.

“On behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, I reaffirm our resolve to create opportunities, empower our people, and build a future of dignity for all,” he said.
