The Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has officially endorsed Comrade Alhasan Yahaya as the Presidential Aspirant for the Nigeria Union of Journalists, with Comrade Dr. Mrs. Abimbola Oyetunde chosen as his running mate.
The endorsement was made by the Chairman of the Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, during a presidential campaign visit for both aspirants in Kano.
The Chairman expressed confidence in their choice, stating that Comrade Alhasan Yahaya’s manifesto is aligned with the values and vision of the council.
Welcoming the presidential aspirant and his running mate, Comrade Alhasan Yahaya and Dr. Mrs. Abimbola Oyetunde, the Chairman highlighted the importance of their visit and the warm reception received from the executive council members of the Union as well as other stakeholders during the visit.
Comrade Alhasan Yahaya outlined key points of his manifesto, including plans to restructure the International Institute of Journalism for optimal performance, establish an NUJ online radio on YouTube and collaborate with public and private entities for infrastructural development at the NUJ national secretariat.
Comrade Alhasan Yahaya and his team, with the slogan “A+A,” expressed gratitude for their support and affirmed their commitment to advancing the interests and welfare of journalists across the country.
The presidential aspirant and his entourage were warmly received at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport before proceeding to the council’s Secretariat for discussions and interactions with members.
