Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will officially launch the distribution of school uniforms to over 789,000 Primary 1 pupils across 7,092 public schools in all 44 Local Government Areas on Monday, January 13, 2025.
According to a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, the initiative is part of the government’s effort to address the problem of out-of-school children.
Arewa PUNCH correspondent gathered that the program aims to promote school enrolment and provide support to indigent families, easing financial burdens on parents.
“This move aligns with Governor Yusuf’s commitment to improving access to quality education, which remains central to his administration’s development agenda.
“The uniform distribution will be overseen by Governor Yusuf at a ceremony set for 1:00 pm at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano,” the statement further revealed.
