The Katsina State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project has pledged urgent intervention to address erosion, flooding, and other environmental challenges affecting communities along the Rahamawa–Janbango–Batsari Road within the Katsina metropolis.
The State Project Coordinator, Nafiu Mohammed Musa, made the pledge while leading a team of experts from the State Project Management Unit on a site identification and assessment visit to the affected communities.
He said the exercise was aimed at identifying areas requiring urgent intervention to safeguard lives and property.
“The visit is part of our mandate to address land degradation, flooding, and erosion challenges facing our communities,” he said.
According to him, the assessment marks an important step towards developing effective and sustainable solutions to protect residents and their property from environmental hazards.
Mohammed reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda to environmental protection, infrastructure development, and improving the welfare of citizens through impactful projects under the Katsina ACReSAL Project.
Responding on behalf of the benefiting communities, Mallam Bello Tanimu expressed appreciation to the state government for the planned intervention.
He said the communities had long awaited the project, noting that it would improve accessibility, reduce environmental degradation, and enhance the socio-economic activities of residents.
Tanimu assured the government of the full cooperation and support of the communities to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
