A member of the House of Representatives from Katsina State, Hon. Sada Soli Jibia (APC), has awarded scholarships to 40 graduating university students to pursue Master’s and Doctorate (PhD) degrees.

The lawmaker, who represents the Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency, provided financial assistance, computers, and covered registration fees for the beneficiaries as part of his 2024/2025 educational support programme.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Soli—represented by his legislative aide, Kabir Mashe—said the beneficiaries were carefully selected by a committee set up by his constituency office.

He reiterated his commitment to serving his constituents and assured that his office remains open to receive complaints and address the needs of the people.

In his remarks, the secretary of the selection committee, Sulaiman Bello, praised the lawmaker for the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity.

He emphasized that the selection process was based on merit and free from any political interference.

Also speaking at the event, the APC Vice Zonal Chairman in Katsina, Idris Asasanta, called on elected officials under the party to prioritize the provision of social amenities for the people.

He also emphasized the need for unity among party members to ensure the continued strength of the APC in the state.

The Chairman of Jibia Local Government Council, Sirajo Ado, described the scholarship initiative as the first of its kind in the area and encouraged other elected officials to emulate Hon. Soli’s gesture.

He also announced a donation of N10 million to be distributed among party members in Jibia Local Government.

Two of the scholarship beneficiaries, Sagir Danladi and Rabiatu Sada, expressed their gratitude to the lawmaker and called for the continuation of the scholarship programme so that more students can benefit in the future.
