The Katsina State Government has sent a delegation to the Kano State Ministry of Culture and Tourism to understudy its achievements and share ideas on establishing the newly created Katsina State Culture and Reorientation Agency.
The Special Adviser to the Katsina State Governor on Culture and Reorientation, Alhaji Isah Muhammad Musa, disclosed this during the delegation’s visit to the Kano State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hajia Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, at her office.
He explained that the visit became necessary because of Kano’s rich historical and cultural heritage, which dates back hundreds of years.
According to him, the engagement was not only symbolic but also a strategic move to strengthen institutional ties and promote collaboration in the areas of cultural reorientation, preservation, and development.
“This visit is not only symbolic but also a strategy to share and obtain valuable opportunities that will strengthen institutional relationships and foster collaboration in cultural reorientation and development,” he said.
Alhaji Isah described Kano as a state with a vibrant cultural heritage, combining tradition and innovation in the preservation and promotion of culture across Nigeria.
He commended Katsina State Governor, Malam Umaru Radda Dikko, for his commitment to promoting historical heritage, culture, and reorientation, assuring that the delegation would use the knowledge gained to establish a strong and effective agency in Katsina.
Speaking during the visit, Kano State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hajia Aisha Lawan Saji Rano, highlighted some of the achievements recorded by the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in promoting tourism and cultural heritage.
She said the present administration had provided support to the ministry in various areas aimed at reviving cultural values, encouraging innovation, and achieving sustainable tourism development.
The commissioner stressed that Kano State remained open to partnerships with other states interested in cultural heritage and tourism development for the benefit of the people and the country at large.
Hajia Aisha Lawan Saji Rano commended the Katsina delegation for choosing Kano as a model for learning and collaboration, assuring that the ministry would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural preservation and tourism development.
