The Kano State Government has donated N20 million towards the publication and preservation of the biography of the late Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, the Jarman Kano, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development and historical legacy of the state.

The donation was announced by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the official presentation and launch of the biography held at the Centre for Excellence, Bayero University, Kano.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Yusuf, Waiya described the late Jarman Kano as an exceptional statesman whose lifetime of service, patriotism and commitment to the progress of Kano State continues to inspire present and future generations.

He said the financial support underscores the commitment of the present administration to preserving the history of distinguished personalities whose sacrifices and selfless service have significantly shaped the growth and development of Kano State.

According to the commissioner, documenting the lives and achievements of great leaders is essential in preserving the state rich heritage and providing valuable lessons for younger generations.

Waiya also called for the immortalisation of the late Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo, describing him as one of Kano’s finest sons whose contributions to the promotion of the state reputation and socio-economic development deserve lasting recognition.

He noted that the legacy of the late Jarman Kano would remain deeply rooted in the hearts of the people of Kano and continue to serve as a symbol of integrity, leadership and dedication to public service.

The commissioner commended the authors of the biography, the organisers of the event, and everyone who contributed to documenting the remarkable life of the late elder statesman, describing the publication as an important addition to Kano’s historical records.

He further stated that preserving the memories of exemplary leaders strengthens society’s appreciation of its history while inspiring responsible leadership and community service.

The event attracted government officials, traditional rulers, academics, political leaders, family members and other dignitaries who gathered to celebrate the life and enduring legacy of the late Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Adamu Dankabo.

The presentation of the biography highlighted the late Jarman Kano’s immense contributions to public service and his unwavering commitment to the advancement of Kano State.

The Kano State Government prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late statesman and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus, while reaffirming its commitment to honouring citizens whose legacies continue to inspire progress and development across the state.
