Emir of Kano, His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II has directed parents, ward, village and district head as well as imams to advised youth in their domains not allow enemies of the state to use them to create violence in the tomorrow’s Local Government Elections.
The emir gave the directive during a press briefing held in his palace today.
His words: “I’m addressing the people of Kano and urging all of you, parents, wards head, village head, imams and district heads to call the youths to order and make sure they are not used by enemies of the state to create violence to lead to loss of lives and to destroy properties.
“To my people in Kano as you are aware tomorrow Insha Allah there will be Local Government Elections in all the 44 local government councils in the state.
“All of these who loves Kano, I’m sure will agree with me that there is nothing we need more than preservation of the peace and security of the state.
“All of those we seek to create mayhem and violence are enemies of the state. Many of them are instigated from outside but when there is breakdown of law and order, it is our children who are killed, it is our wealth that are destroyed, it is our establishment that which are damaged.
“We all recalled what happened few months ago, when miscreants were brought in and paid to create damage that cost millions to replace, in addition to human lives that have gone forever.
“We pray to Allah that the election be peacefully, we pray to Allah to guide the leaders to do what is right for the people and to improve the living standard of the people.
“We pray to Allah to protect our state and anyone who wishes us evil may Allah return the evil to him. And all those that wish us well may Allah reward them.
May Allah give us preservation of peace, security and stability,” the Emir concluded.
