The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has held a crucial meeting with IPAC and chairmen of political parties in the state, ahead of the forthcoming local government election scheduled for November 30, 2024.

In his remarks during the courtesy called The KANSIEC Chairman, Prof. Sani Lawal, emphasized the importance of voter education and awareness where urging the party chairmen to sensitize their members and the electorate on the electoral process.

Prof. Sani Lawal stressed that the commission is committed to conducting free, fair, and credible elections, and encouraged party chairmen to ensure their supporters exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation.

The chairman also warned against electoral malpractices, such as vote-buying, thuggery, and manipulation, stating that KANSIEC will not tolerate any form of irregularity.

“We assured the party chairmen that the commission will provide a level playing field for all candidates and parties.”

The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and ensure a peaceful electoral process. Party chairmen assured KANSIEC of their cooperation and commitment to promoting democratic values.

“Let us work together to make this election a success.”

Earlier in his remark, Isa Nuhu Danfulani Chairman who was the Kano chapter of the IPAC expresses his satisfaction with the commission’s degree of preparedness and urge them to stick on the electoral acts governing the commission.

“It is familiarization visit, We are here today to pay a courtesy visit to the Kansiec, and engaged in the new journey, nothing less.”

“With this meeting, KANSIEC demonstrates its dedication to transparency and inclusivity, setting the stage for a successful local government election in Kano State.
